The Vortex of Incivility

Laura tried to quiet the crowd that were booing her every word. Her wilting efforts to remain in control left her feeling depressed and lacking any hope that change would come in time for reasonable discussions on the issues that Americans would be voting on the following Tuesday.

She had believed that the vortex of incivility that she witnessed on the campaign trail was relegated to elections for national offices, not among people in her small town who had always treated each other with dignity and were willing to listen to the “other side of the story.”
